In round four of the League of Legends Championship Series Summer Championships, the top laner for the Evil Geniuses, Jeong “Impact” Eon-young, made history. In the fourth round of the lower brackets, he defeated Team Liquid and achieved the rare feat of registering a pentakill, making him only the second top laner in the whole history of the competition to accomplish this.

NOT HIS FIRST PENTAKILL

Impact has accomplished a pentakill once before in his career, back when he was competing in the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) for SKT T1 almost a decade ago. Considering EG’s big lead and the fact that there wasn’t much movement around the map in the initial part of the game, TL’s plan of preventing Danny from advancing while advancing Hans Sama didn’t seem to be working very well.

IMPACT’S LONG LIST OF ACHIEVEMENTS

The most recent success for Impact is merely an addition to an already extensive list of accomplishments. In 2015, he made the move from South Korea to North America, where he played previously for the teams Team Impulse, which is no longer in operation, and NRG Esports, before joining Team Liquid.
